Poem #3: Sorrow's Soul

Thoughts hurt, they can cut deep like a knife; 

Depression drowns, steals the light from all life.

Stress strangles tight, like a noose around the soul;

Anger's inferno, a blaze hard to control.

Hidden behind a smile is a shattered heart,

Battling demons within keeps tearing me apart.

Going around in circles, can't find my way,

Lost in this darkness day after day.

Longing for one to see through my disguise, 

Translate my pain, hear my unheard cries.

Reaching out, can you hear my plea?

Please rescue me, set me free.

In vulnerability, we discover our might,

the darkest hours, is when we learn to fight,

Sorrow's soul may stay scarred and bruised,

But in her depths, courage infused.
